Residential Schools have impacted every Aboriginal person in Canada, and indirectly has changed the way Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people interact with each other. This is why it is important that we honor the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and their 94 Calls to Action. In conjunction with the Indian Residential School Survivors' Society, we have put together a video series with presenter Angela White as a guest speaker on Canada's Residential Schools. They can be used for your person knowledge, or in your HIGH School classrooms as a teaching aid.
We also have personal stories from Elder Hazel Squakin. They are broken into two parts, and with all Residential School survivor stories, these can trigger emotion in many adults and students. Please contact our office for advice on how to deal with this ahead of time.
